AEGROS SANAT HUMANITASとは？

新しくリリースしたTシャツのインスピレーション源となったのは、イギリスに実在したフリーメイソンの病院が発行していたメダル。この病院に貢献した者に贈呈されていたそうで、オークションサイトなどで手頃な価格で販売されている。

個人的にフリーメイソンとは全く関係ないうえ、特別な感情を抱いているわけではない。幼少期にアンティークショップで父親に買ってもらったこのメダルをずっと持っていた。これが何なのか、AEGROS SANAT HUMANITASがどういう意味なのかも知らずに、何十年もジュエリーボックスで眠っていた。

時を経て、人間味とでもいうのか慈愛とでもいうのか、優しさや寄り添いの気持ちが大切だと気づいた。感情論に寄りすぎたいわけではないけれど、誰かが苦しんでいるとき、優しさと寄り添う気持ちを忘れないように、という思いでデザインを手がけた。

What is AEGROS SANAT HUMANITAS?

FETZ's new T-Shirt is inspired by a masonic medal which was associated with the Masonic Hospital existed in London. Those medals were most likely awarded for physical and financial contributions to the hospital. You can find them on auction sites such as eBay at a reasonable price.

I have nothing to do with Freemasonry nor hold special feelings towards the organization. It goes back to my childhood, my father got me the medal at an antique store. I had no clue what it was. And, of course I didn't know what AEGROS SANAT HUMANITAS means in Latin. It had been lying in my jewelry box for decades.
